Portuguese cuisine is not well known outside Portugal, however it is varied and delicious. It is based on simple dishes of fish, seafood and meat, in addition, the Portuguese make probably the most delicious pastries and incomparable desserts.
You have arrived at Web Summit and don’t know where to have a bite to eat while saving time? Not a problem. YouTravel.me and Portugal travel expert Yasya Dobreva have compiled the top 5 cafes and restaurants in the Altice Arena area.
Lisbon style breakfasts at any time – A Padaria Portuguesa
This chain of cafes is only in Lisbon; they are notable for the fact that you can order pequeno-almoco here – complex breakfasts all day long. Do not forget to drop in here for a slice of cake, fresh juice and aromatic coffee before a busy day.
The prices are more than affordable: breakfast within 2.75 euros, 2 euros – a slice of cake and coffee, 1.50 euros – vegetable cream soup.

For those who want to taste traditions – D’Bacalhau Restaurant
One of the most traditional Portuguese dishes is bacalhau, dried salted cod. Cod is the main national product and has been salted here for several centuries. The sailors were kept in salt, and then dried in order to preserve the fish for a long time.
We recommend trying Bacalhau com Natas, Bacalhau a Lagareiro and Polvo a Lagaleiro (octopus).
